On Day One at the Democratic National Convention, Michelle Obama gave a powerful speech to delegates and the television audience. The following morning, CFAW President Faye Wattleton was invited by CNN to share her thoughts on the previous night’s event. She pointed out that there are many successful African-American women in this country, yet it was beneficial to hear from a woman as poised and accomplished as Michelle Obama. Faye also emphasized that the candidates need to speak directly to the issues that are important to women in their daily lives.
