NEW YORK - Like you and so many Americans, we are outraged, but sadly, not surprised with Ann Coulter’s recent hate speech. We feel it is imperative that we don’t remain silent against her rage and that we respond with an educated voice. Through an interactive campaign by the Center for the Advancement of Women, hundreds of people are saying “Ann Coulter Does Not Speak for Me” on women’s issues.
“Ann Coulter’s use of antigay language exemplifies the hateful behavior that will become dismissible in our society if we’re complacent.” said Faye Wattleton, president of the Center for the Advancement of Women. “At a time when we are becoming a more tolerant nation, she wants to take us back. We must object and demand that accurate, verifiable data are part of our political speech.”
Through the Ann Coulter Does Not Speak for Me campaign, the Center for the Advancement of Women offers fact-based rebuttal to many of the sensational spews that Coulter has made against American women. The Center also encourages viewers to take action by signing a petition that says, “Ann Coulter does not speak for me.”
As you continue to cover Ann Coulter’s unfortunate appearances-or for stories related to women’s thoughts, concerns, and desires, please consider Faye Wattleton and the Center for the Advancement of Women as an available resource.
