Women in Science, Engineering and Technology (SET) Report
We championed this unique study to capture the findings of numerous scholars and authors in the business, finance and educational sectors about women’s participation in science, engineering and technology (SET).

The report documents that, while relatively large concentrations of women entered the SET fields, over the past two decades, most of these professionals still struggle to advance to positions of leadership. Demoralizing gender disparity persists.  Women are desperately needed in these fields in order to change this paradigm and to maintain the present demand and projected need for scientists and engineers in America.

  • Only 20% of information technology professionals are women.

  • Overall, women working in SET earn approximately 92 cents for every dollar earned by men, with men receiving higher salaries, bonuses and raises than their female counterparts.

  • Young women are alarmingly absent from computer science advanced placement classes.
