About Us

Led by Faye Wattleton, the Center for the Advancement of Women is a not-for-profit institution dedicated to research-based education and advocacy for women.  An independent, non-partisan organization founded in 1995, our mission is to conduct national opinion research among women to measure experiences in their daily lives. This research presents a profile of women that is used to educate opinion leaders, policy makers and the general public.

Mission Statement
The Center for the Advancement of Women works to promote and protect women’s rights and opportunities, worldwide, by:

  • Conducting and sponsoring research to identify issues that are important to women and to understand how women’s experiences in their daily lives affect their larger worldview and place in society;

  • Educating and informing opinion leaders, policy-makers, academic institutions and the general public to improve women’s lives.

  • Shaping and promoting research-based public policy positions that advance women’s rights and other progressive health and social issues.

  • Strategic use of broadcast and print media, interactive technology and direct marketing techniques to mobilize support for women’s rights and social & economic justice.
